I had a fight with a friend. I lay awake late that night thinking about what had happened and what should have happened and what I hoped would happen next, and wrote down what I thought I should do in hopes that it would help me fall asleep. And it did.
The next day I shared the words with one of my brothers, who sang them back to me in a voicemail in a funny voice as a joke while walking.
I used his melody to begin to structure the song.

Once it was done Jonah and I recorded it at Sugar.
And Mattiel arranged the video.
I’m glad they liked what I wrote enough to want to helped me share it with you, I hope you like it too, but if you don’t, you know what to do.

I need to forgive
When anger keeps me up at night
Practicing for my next fight
Polishing old arguments
Repeating in my head

When my eyes feel like they’re full of sand
Holding fists instead of hands
